Seeds

Something hit me today.... It was an idea, a song, a lyric, a melody, it was this inspiration that's been eluding me lately. I'm not quite done with all the lyrics yet, but for those of you who read my blogs ( made up of mainly my bands song lyrics) then just hold tight I'm spilling these lyrics on paper like they were raindrops spilling from the clouds. This is for you... you who can't let go. I'm not talking about myself... when I look at you I swear I'm looking in a mirror though... do you know who you are? It's still not enough to make me love you, I love another... but for what it's worth I'm sorry.

Its 4 AM and you're not at home
It's 4AM and I'm stretching out my bones, to start my day.
It's 4AM and you're sleeping in
It's 4AM and walking in my skin, cause I know who I am.
But you go, and you go too far,
with your words and your scars
That you say you've earned. They're just lessons you never learned.
what I wanna know is....

Where you go to find the truth, of what you win and what you lose.
Where you go to stay, with what you give and what you take.
You'll never find the way.

It's 4AM and I see your lips,
st st st st st stuttering shit you wanna say, but you can't find a way.
It's 4AM and the lights dim,
It's 4AM and I'm painting your sins on the ceiling, I'm only stealing what your feeling now.
What I wanna know is....

Where you go to find the truth, of what you win and what you lose.
Where you go to stay, with what you give and what you take.
You'll never find the way...

You're not at home, when this seed was sewn.
You're not alone, when your lie was grown.
Seasons are changing, and the cold shall be your home.

The Darkroom

So I can't lie I've been very lonely as of right now, I can't seem to find that motivation that's been keeping in the gym, keeping me writing and keeping me healthy. I feel as if I'm getting irritated with my domain (the close knit of people I associate with on a daily basis) mainly because there is no stimulation in brain. We do the same things on a daily basis, there is no change. I don't really have any friends other than a girl I used to date and My bandmates, other than that any close friend I have lives far away. I was told by a very good friend of mine to not fall into that "Dark Space" Would you guess it that's where I felt I was headed, that depression, Im glad I can see that now. I've decided to take a mental picture of this current moment, so that I know what it looks like for future reference. I'll try to picture my eyes open, I'll try to picture that interesting person, I'll try to picture the road that leads me there.

yes.... a new one.

I'll try to picture my hands in a square in front of my face
I'll take a snap shot of things I want erased.
I'll keep it in a frame.
I'll try to picture my eyes wide shut, when I'm in the light
I'll dip the paper in the waves and watch things come to life.
I'll keep it in a frame.

When you come down, I'll be aware of everything around
Like where you stand, and how I'm a man.
I'll keep you in a frame, on my wall, In my room, on my mind.

New Song Lyrics (Hometown)

So for those of you who read my blogs, chances are you listen to my band. Most of my blogs are our bands lyrics. I write almost all of them... recently Ive been asking the guys to do some writing so that our songs can take on a different tone. Yesterday we hit pay dirt, I started writing a song on the guitar of all things and it came to life within a few hours of jamming with the guys. I wrote most of the song with the exception of the second verse, what the song is about is different from what it was inspired from. Either way the song features, Cody's signature pedal board effects including a whammy pedal, and an ebo; a full harmonic and melodic bass line from Jason, Jaime's drumming... must I say anything else? Lastly it features a mid song instrument switch by me! I go from playing the acoustic guitar, to acoustic guitar and piano at the same time, to piano. If your a fan of A Formal Affair this new song is a must hear... come to our next show and ask for it. Ill have a for sure title later today. Here ya go...

Hometown

I'll open the door, If you promise to say out loud...
"I need you like you need me now."
I'll open the door, if you say....
"I'm fixing all of my mistakes."
But we know it's just the start love
We know it's just the start.

Who's got a hold on you?
Who's got a hold on who?
I just can't go...
cause maybe you feel like home.

Oh we've been here before, why can't you see?
Were right where were supposed to be.
And getting older now, never looked so good...
I'm going back to where I once stood.
we know it's just the start love
we know it's just the start.

Who's got a hold on you?
Who's got a hold on who?
I just can't go...
cause baby you feel like home.

Who's got a hold on who?
(I've got a hold on you)
Who's got a hold on who?
(I've got a hold on you)

repeat chorus.

There ya go, you can comment on here on our myspace, or my facebook what y'all think.
Thanks to all of you who listen and appreciate our music.
